Geolocation
Hosting, Cloud, and IP Ownership
When traffic originates from a cloud server, VPN, or hosting network, geolocation often shows the provider's registration location.
Examples
- A VPS in Frankfurt may show Germany even if the operator lives elsewhere
- A CDN edge may appear near the PoP handling the request
- Corporate egress may centralize outbound traffic
Practical takeaway
Always interpret IP intelligence in context. Hosting and proxy infrastructure routinely distort end-user geography.
